Con el objeto de aportar en la discusión de temas relacionados con la gestión de las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TICs), el desarrollo e implementación de servicios, con estándares de eficacia y calidad, y la toma de decisiones en cuanto a la incorporación de las tecnologías emergentes, entre otros, la Red de Directores de Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación de las Universidades Latinoamericanas (TICAL), con el impulso de RedCLARA, está convocando a su primera conferencia regional, la que se llevará a cabo en la ciudad de Panamá, los días 20 y 21 de junio de 2011.
La conferencia, que tendrá como tema central la gestión de las TICs en la universidad e incluirá ponencias relacionadas con la gobernabilidad de las TIC, la gestión de servicios, la gestión del conocimiento y las redes avanzadas, contará con la participación de Víctor Castelo del CSIC de España y Bill St Arnaud, Canadá y Holanda, como conferencistas invitados.
